Aged Care Act 2024 (Australia) 189.a-d: Section 189(1)(a) to (d) and Rules 189-1 to 189-10: platform notification, complaints and incident systems

A constitutional corporation operating an aged care digital platform must notify the Commissioner within 14 days of first displaying a service offer (or of becoming operator) with the platform name, operator and contact, ABN, start date, intended service types and relationships with registered providers, and report changes within 14 days. Its complaints system must accept complaints from anyone, anonymously and free, allow withdrawal, protect confidentiality, acknowledge each complaint in writing within 3 days, refer it with consent to the registered provider within 7 days, tell the provider of a withdrawal within 2 days, support complainants and be reviewed annually. Its incident system must let anyone report a reportable incident free of charge, acknowledge it, refer it to the registered provider within 24 hours with the harm, timing, place, people and police status known, advise entities how to report, train staff and be reviewed annually. It must display a summary and explanation of both systems.
