ACT Residential Tenancies Act 1997 s19B-cl62A: s 19B, Sch 1 cl 62A Premises meet the minimum housing standards

The lessor must ensure premises let under a residential tenancy agreement meet the minimum housing standards prescribed by regulation (which may cover physical accessibility, energy efficiency, safety and security, sanitation and amenity) no later than the proposed compliance date stated before signing (the period the regulation prescribes, otherwise 1 month after the agreement), and, on becoming aware during the tenancy that the premises do not or no longer comply, must bring them into compliance as soon as practicable. A tenant may seek a rent reduction order (s 71AAA) or termination (s 46AA) for non-compliance.
