ACT Medicines, Poisons and Therapeutic Goods Act 2008
Chapter 4 Part 4.1: dealings with regulated substances (supply, supply authorities, manufacture, possession, administration, prescribing, loss and theft) – ACT Medicines, Poisons and Therapeutic Goods Act 2008

ACT Medicines, Poisons and Therapeutic Goods Act 2008 s27-29: Do not supply on a supply authority that is illegible, altered, cancelled, out of date, issued by an unauthorised person, obtained by deception or believed to be forged or changed

What does s27-29 require?

A person authorised to supply on a supply authority commits a strict liability offence (50 penalty units) by supplying on one that is wholly or partly illegible, has been changed or marked cancelled, or was issued more than 6 months earlier for a controlled medicine or more than 1 year earlier for any other declared substance, unless the content was checked with the issuer first and the supply matches the confirmed authority (or a pharmacist changes a prescription at the issuer's oral direction and notes it as the regulation requires); an employee supplying at the principal's direction is excused but the principal is not. Supplying while reckless about whether the issuer was authorised (s 28) or knowing the authority was obtained by false information, or with reason to believe someone other than the issuer altered it or false in a material particular (s 29), carries 100 penalty units, 1 year or both, subject to the issuer-confirmation exceptions.
