The entity must separate liabilities that arose from pure finance-raising transactions from every other liability. For the first group, measurement and derecognition effects and incremental issue and extinguishment costs are financing; for the second group only interest income or expense, and interest rate change effects, are financing, and then only where the entity identifies them in applying other Standards. Hybrid contracts with a liability host follow the application guidance; derivative and hedging gains and losses follow their own rules. Income and expenses from investment contracts with participation features under AASB 9 and insurance finance income and expenses under AASB 17 are excluded from financing and placed in operating. A customer-financing entity classifies in operating the effects of finance-raising liabilities that relate to that activity, makes a consistent policy choice for the others (consistent with its cash and cash equivalents choice), and classifies all such liabilities in operating if it cannot distinguish them; interest on other liabilities stays in financing.
This control maps to 2 controls across 1 other frameworks. If you already hold one of them, the evidence you collected for it is the starting point here rather than new work.
Every mapping shown was judged rather than inferred from wording similarity, and the ones that failed review are published too. See the coverage reports and what was rejected.
The graph holds this control, the 2 it maps to, and the evidence behind each claim, over MCP and REST.
