Designers of plant must ensure the design eliminates or minimises risks through its life cycle, including hazards from guarding, operator controls, emergency stops, warning devices and the listed matters, must give the manufacturer the design information and keep records; manufacturers must build to the design, test and give information; importers and suppliers must pass on the information and not supply unsafe plant; persons who install, construct or commission plant must follow that information and leave the plant safe to use. Registered plant designs and items of plant carry the Part 5.2 duties.
