Precondition (mandatory for certification). Legacy hazards are managed: in older buildings a qualified inspector identifies presumed asbestos, confirms by microscopy and an action plan covers notification, fibre control, worker protection, waste handling, clearance air testing and re-inspection at most every three years for materials left in place (new or previously remediated spaces use exemption routes); lead paint hazards are inventoried and tested against dust, paint and soil thresholds with notification, controlled removal, re-inspection and clearance; and where renovation disturbs likely PCB materials (caulk, ballasts, pre-1980 capacitors) an inspection strategy and action plan with notification and exposure controls apply. Parts: (a) Manage Asbestos Hazards; (b) Manage Lead Paint Hazards; (c) Manage Polychlorinated Biphenyl (PCB) Hazards.
