The 2010 Standards' Chapter 2 scoping applies to Title II facilities except as modified here. Social service centre establishments that provide sleeping accommodation comply with the transient lodging provisions (224) of the Standards, including the requirement that accessible beds be dispersed, and may use the dormitory-style and clustered-sleeping-room allowances. Housing provided by or for a public place of education (dormitories, residence halls) follows the transient lodging provisions, and apartments and townhouses provided as housing follow the residential facilities provisions (233), with the public entity treated as the housing owner. Assembly areas must disperse wheelchair spaces and companion seats as 221 and 802 require, with at least one in each specialty seating area in stadiums and arenas. Medical care facilities apply 223 with accessible rooms dispersed across the categories of care. Curb ramps or other sloped areas are required wherever newly built or altered streets, roads and highways meet walkways and at every newly built or altered pedestrian walkway crossing. Residential dwelling units for sale apply 233.3 through 233.3.2 as modified. Detention and correctional facilities make at least 3 percent of cells (and no fewer than one) in each facility accessible with mobility features, dispersed across classification levels, and at least 2 percent with communication features, with alterations and substitute cells covered.
