Every vehicle conforming to an approved type carries, conspicuously and in a readily accessible place specified on the approval form, the approval mark: a circle around E with the approving country's number (4.1.1) and, to its right, 156 R, a dash and the approval number (4.1.2), whose first two digits show the series (00 for the original version, 01 for the 01 series). Marks for several Regulations may share one E symbol in columns (4.2); the mark is legible and indelible (4.3) and on or near the data plate (4.4); Annex 3 gives examples (4.5).
