Documentation is provided in two parts: (a) the formal documentation package with the Annex 1 material, used by the authority as the basic reference and kept by it for at least 10 years after production ends, and (b) additional material retained by the manufacturer but opened for inspection at type approval, which the manufacturer keeps available for at least 10 years after production of the type is definitively discontinued.
