If the approval holder completely ceases to manufacture an approved vehicle type it informs the authority that granted the approval, which notifies the other Contracting Parties with a copy of the approval form annotated PRODUCTION DISCONTINUED. Under the CSMS the post-production phase of 7.2.2.1 then continues until no vehicle of the type remains operational.
