Evidence in monitoring data reliably triggers tested alerts, enriched with network knowledge, signatures and indicators of compromise, prioritised by essential function and tuned to adversary techniques (for example MITRE ATT&CK) and threat intelligence, with compensation for devices that cannot log and detection of lost log feeds. Alerts are contextualised to identify incidents, categorised by type and severity for triage, with defined incident declaration, handler assignment, checklists, current network diagrams and baselining. Threat feeds are selected on risk and sector, applied promptly, their value tracked and shared with the threat community.
