UK MoD JSP 936 Dependable AI in Defence Part 1: Directive (V1.1, 2024) 112-114: Satisfy the RAISO that shared, exported or imported AI and data meet ASR policy and respect host-nation considerations

What does 112-114 require?

When UK-developed AI or related data is shared with international partners, in coalition or by export, the RAISO checks as far as they can that the use will accord with ASR policy. Where the UK uses non-UK developed AI or data, including for further UK training, the RAISO through delegated persons satisfies themselves that it meets ASR policy, with a Statement of AI Ethics Assurance. The UK legal and ethical framework always applies to AI used abroad, and so far as reasonably practicable AI and data used in a non-UK context are compatible with the host nation's legal and ethical considerations.
