Chapter III: Rights of the data subject – UK GDPR (UK General Data Protection Regulation)

UK GDPR (UK General Data Protection Regulation) Art.20: Article 20 Right to data portability

What does Art.20 require?

Where processing rests on consent or contract and is automated, the data subject may receive the personal data they provided in a structured, commonly used, machine-readable format and transmit it to another controller without hindrance, directly controller to controller where technically feasible. The right does not apply to public-task processing, is without prejudice to erasure and must not adversely affect others' rights.
