Each controller must implement effective mechanisms to encourage reporting of infringements of Part 3 to the controller or the Commissioner, including raising awareness of whistleblowing protections under Part 4A of the Employment Rights Act 1996 (and the Northern Ireland equivalent) and other protections it considers appropriate; a person reporting does not breach confidence or disclosure restrictions (other than those under the Investigatory Powers Act 2016).
