UK AI Regulation Framework C2: Central function: cross-sector risk assessment and horizon scanning

What does C2 require?

Government maintains a cross-economy AI risk register to support regulators' risk assessments, monitors and reprioritises known risks, identifies new risks with horizon scanning, clarifies responsibility for risks in contested or uncovered areas, shares enforcement practice and convenes industry, frontier researchers, academia and international partners; a multidisciplinary risk team was set up in DSIT and a targeted consultation on the register was promised for 2024.
