Government (the Department for Science, Innovation and Technology) is to run a central monitoring and evaluation framework assessing whether the regime is proportionate and supports innovation, gather data from industry, regulators and civil society, advise ministers on further intervention, maintain central guidance for regulators, identify barriers such as remit, powers and capability, resolve inconsistent interpretations that harm innovation, review whether the principles remain relevant, and review potential gaps in regulators' powers and remits; a government and regulator steering committee was planned for spring 2024.
