The Board examines matters on complaint or of its own motion. Except for state secrets, the controller must send the information and documents the Board requests within fifteen days and allow on-site examination where needed; where an infringement is found, the controller must remedy it without delay and within thirty days of notification of the Board's decision. The Board may also issue principle decisions on widespread infringements and order processing or transfers abroad to stop where damage would be hard or impossible to remedy and the violation is clear. Failure to implement Board decisions is fined TRY 25,000 to 1,000,000 (base amount, revalued yearly) under Article 18(1)(c).
