Texas State Fire Marshal Rules (28 TAC Chapter 34, Subchapters C, E, F and G) 34.320: Inspection priority for state buildings follows the published potential fire safety risk factors

What does 34.320 require?

The Commissioner adopts guidelines for assigning potential fire safety risk, which the state fire marshal uses to schedule inspections of state-owned and state-leased buildings. The marshal reviews available information on each building's gross floor area, occupancy classification, occupant load, construction type, height and other listed factors to rank its potential risk, and inspects the highest-risk buildings first. Agencies responsible for state buildings should therefore keep the underlying building data current and expect inspection frequency to track their risk profile.
