Tasmania Child and Youth Safe Organisations Act 2023 s34: Head notifies the Regulator within 3 business days and gives detail within 30 days

The head of a relevant entity who becomes aware of a reportable allegation or conviction against a worker notifies the Regulator in writing within 3 business days (that the allegation or conviction exists; the worker's name, former names or aliases and date of birth if known; whether Tasmania Police has been told of an allegation; the entity's name, address and telephone number; the head's name), and as soon as practicable and within 30 days gives all known detailed information, any action taken or intended and the reasons, and any written submissions the worker asked to have considered (s 34(1)). Failure without reasonable excuse is an offence (maximum 120 penalty units) (s 34(2)); other reporting duties are unaffected (s 34(3)). Scheme obligations applied from 1 January 2024 (Schedule 3 clause 2) or 1 July 2024 (clubs, coaching and tuition, clause 3) (s 32).
