The building inspector must give an interim report (s 199) and, after arranging a final inspection, a final report identifying any defective building work (ss 200, 201), copies or notice of which go to the persons listed in s 202. The report has the effects set out in s 205, and defects identified in it must be rectified in accordance with s 206.
