Strata Schemes Management Act 2015 (New South Wales) s191-198: ss 191 to 198 Building work covered, and the developer's duty to appoint a building inspector

Part 11 applies to building work on a building containing a strata scheme above the prescribed threshold, as defined and scoped by ss 189 to 191. The developer must appoint a building inspector, or notify the Secretary so an inspector can be arranged, before the relevant stage of the building work (s 194), subject to approval of the appointment by the owners corporation or the Secretary arranging an interim inspection (ss 195, 196), and the inspector must not be connected with the developer (s 197). The building inspector has obligations around conducting the inspection and being given the required documents (ss 198, 198A).
