Solvency II Art.82-84: Arts 82 to 84; DR Arts 264, 265 Assure data quality, validate against experience and document technical provisions

What does Art.82-84 require?

Undertakings must have processes ensuring appropriate, complete and accurate data for technical provisions (approximations are allowed only where data are insufficient), regularly compare best estimates and assumptions against experience and adjust methods for systematic deviation, and on request demonstrate the appropriateness of the level of technical provisions, methods and data. The Delegated Regulation requires validation at least annually (data, grouping, approximations, assumptions including future management actions, methods, level) separately by risk group and component, and documentation of data directories, assumptions with justification and changes, method selection and validation.
