Where Part 3 applies, the consumer may require the transferor to repair or to replace the goods. The transferor must carry out the remedy in a reasonable time, without significant inconvenience to the consumer, and bear all necessary costs including labour, materials and postage. The consumer cannot insist on a remedy that is impossible, or disproportionate compared with the other remedy or with a price reduction or rescission, judged by the goods' value if conforming, the significance of the non-conformity and whether the other remedy avoids significant inconvenience. Reasonable time and inconvenience are judged by the nature of the goods and the purpose for which they were acquired.
