Section 508 - ICT Accessibility (Revised) 402.3: Volume control and amplification

What does 402.3 require?

ICT delivering sound, including required speech output, provides volume control and amplification (not required where 412.2 is met). For private listening a volume control mode is provided and, for output held to the ear, magnetic wireless coupling to hearing technologies (402.3.1). For non-private listening, incremental volume control with amplification up to at least 65 dB and an automatic reset to the default level after every use (402.3.2).
