SEC Climate Disclosure Rule 1502(e): Item 1502(e): transition plan description, annual update and its cost

What does 1502(e) require?

If the registrant has adopted a transition plan to manage a material transition risk, describe the plan, and update the annual report disclosure every fiscal year by describing the actions taken under the plan during the year and how they affected the business, results of operations or financial condition. Include quantitative and qualitative disclosure of material expenditures incurred and material impacts on financial estimates and assumptions as a direct result of the plan (1502(e)(2), with the later compliance date). A transition plan is the registrant's strategy and implementation plan to reduce climate-related risks, which may include reducing GHG emissions in line with its own commitments or those of jurisdictions where it has significant operations. The disclosure, other than historical facts, is a forward-looking statement within the Item 1507 safe harbor.
