Saudi NCA National Cryptographic Standards (NCS-1:2020) 2.4: Lightweight cryptography only where conventional algorithms cannot run, using the ISO/IEC 29192 families

What does 2.4 require?

On constrained devices where conventional cryptography is not applicable, the accepted lightweight algorithms are the ISO/IEC 29192 families: block ciphers PRESENT (80-bit or 128-bit keys) and CLEFIA (128, 192 or 256-bit keys); stream ciphers Enocoro (80-bit or 128-bit keys) and Trivium (80-bit key); the asymmetric mechanisms (unilateral authentication, ALIKE key exchange and identity-based signature); the hash functions PHOTON, SPONGENT and Lesamnta-LW at the listed output sizes; and the MACs Tsudik's keymode and Chaskey-12 (128-bit key).
