Saudi Arabia SDAIA AI Ethics Principles (Version 2.0, 2025) 5.BV: Reliability and Safety in Build and Validate: comprehensive testing methodology, rigorous validation with oversight and integration sign-off, human determination for irreversible decisions, and no social scoring or mass surveillance

What does 5.BV require?

The technical build goes with a comprehensive methodology for testing the quality of the predictive data-based system to standard policies and protocols; technical robustness is secured through rigorous testing, validation and reassessment with oversight and control mechanisms built in, and system integration testing is signed off with relevant stakeholders to limit risk and liability. Automated systems whose decisions are irreversible, hard to reverse or life-and-death trigger human oversight and final determination, and AI systems are never put to social scoring or mass surveillance.
