Alongside the development requirements, the requirements for keeping the aircraft airworthy throughout its life are gathered so that they can go into the ICA: any recurring maintenance, inspection or overhaul needed to preserve system or structural integrity or the safety protections becomes an ICA maintenance requirement, and tasks critical enough to need extra prominence and protection from accidental removal or alteration go into the airworthiness limitations part of the maintenance manual.
