Members and firms developing AI systems must apply the standard to development and, before general deployment, record in writing the system's identifiable application, its risks and benefits for the task, and other possible approaches; they must also record a sustainability impact assessment, involve a diverse range of stakeholders and record those directly involved, document compliance with data and confidentiality laws, obtain individuals' written permission in advance before using their personal data in development, and have policies and processes for judging whether development data is of good quality and reliable.
