Article 55: Member States designate one or more health data access bodies (new or existing public sector bodies, with a coordinator if several) to carry out Articles 57 to 59, notify their identity by 26 March 2027, provide resources, expertise, premises and infrastructure, ensure ethics expertise where national law requires, segregate functions such as application assessment, dataset preparation and pseudonymisation, and provision in secure environments to avoid conflicts, and require staff to act independently in the public interest and cooperate with stakeholders.
