Due diligence: information, risk assessment and mitigation – Regulation (EU) 2023/1115 on deforestation-free supply chains

Regulation (EU) 2023/1115 on deforestation-free supply chains 9(1)(d): Geolocate every plot of land or cattle establishment and record the production dates

What does 9(1)(d) require?

Article 9(1)(d): the operator collects the geolocation of all plots of land where the commodities were produced, with the date or time range of production; mixed-origin products need every plot; for cattle and products fed with relevant products the geolocation covers every establishment where the cattle were kept. Any deforestation or forest degradation on a plot disqualifies all commodities from it. Article 4a(5) lets micro or small primary operators use a postal address instead.
