If after considering an investigator's report the Board reasonably considers a valuer has engaged in professional misconduct or incompetence or negligence as a valuer, it may refer the matter to QCAT or, where it does not warrant referral, take disciplinary action itself: admonish or reprimand, require an undertaking to abstain from particular conduct, or impose a penalty of up to 20 penalty units. Before acting the Board must give written notice of the alleged misconduct, the facts and circumstances, and a date at least 14 days ahead by which the valuer may make submissions, and must give an information notice for its decision (section 51(2)).
