Communication and incident handling during the test – PTES

PTES PTES-2.3: Encrypt sensitive communications and the final report in transit

Sensitive information exchanged during the engagement, and especially the final report, is encrypted: a secure communication method is established with the organisation before testing (for example encrypted email or an encrypted archive of the report using a strong algorithm, noting that email subject lines are not protected), and the parties agree what may be put in writing and what should be conveyed only verbally.
