The Minister or the Secretary may make public statements identifying and warning about unsatisfactory or dangerous goods and their suppliers, unsatisfactorily supplied services, unfair business practices (including unfair contract terms) and the persons engaged in them, and anything else the section lists (section 86A), and may publish information about complaints (sections 86AA, 86AB). The Secretary keeps a public register of undertakings accepted under section 218 of the ACL, with each undertaking, variation, the giver's name and address and the date, removing withdrawn undertakings (section 86B). Traders named in a public warning or on the register have no right to prior consultation beyond what the Act provides.
