Section 10.4: Backup, disaster recovery and cross-border transfers – Nigeria NITDA National Cloud Technical Guideline 2026

Nigeria NITDA National Cloud Technical Guideline 2026 10.4.I: Maintain tested disaster recovery with distributed backups and automated failover, with RTO and RPO in every SLA and verified by the SI

What does 10.4.I require?

Data centres that hold government or regulated sector information keep disaster recovery plans that are comprehensive, tested and documented, with geographically distributed backups and automated failover to secondary sites; recovery time and recovery point objectives are mandatory components of every SLA; and the SI, as primary provisioning entity, performs thorough due diligence on the CSP's disclosed disaster recovery capabilities and makes sure they meet the RTO and RPO in the FPI's SLA, as part of its contractual obligation.
