New Zealand Information Security Manual (NZISM) 16.6.11.C.01: 16.6.11.C.01 Required fields in each logged event

For each event that must be logged, agencies must make sure the logging facility captures at least the following where applicable: the event's date and time; the system users or processes involved; a description of the event; whether it succeeded or failed; its source (for example the application name); and the location or identification of the IT equipment.
