NAIC Unfair Claims Settlement Practices Model Act (MDL-900) and Model Regulation (MDL-902) mdl902-s4-file-documentation-dates: Document each claim file so the insurer's activities can be reconstructed, date-stamp every relevant document, and keep paperless files reproducible

What does mdl902-s4-file-documentation-dates require?

Each claim file must contain detailed documentation sufficient to reconstruct the insurer's activities on the claim. Every relevant document in the file must be noted with the date received, processed or mailed. Insurers that do not keep paper files must be able to display the file on screen or from micrographics and reproduce it in hard copy; the drafting note encourages States to accommodate reasonable electronic systems.
