NAIC Unfair Claims Settlement Practices Model Act (MDL-900) and Model Regulation (MDL-902) mdl902-s4-claim-data-retrievable: Keep claim data accessible and retrievable for examination: claim number, line, loss date, payment, denial and closure dates for the current and two preceding years

What does mdl902-s4-claim-data-retrievable require?

Claim files for policies and certificates are open to examination by the commissioner or designees. To support that, the insurer must keep claim data that examiners can access and retrieve, able to produce for each claim its number, the line of coverage, when the loss occurred, when it was paid, or when it was denied or closed unpaid, across every open and closed file for this year and the two years before.
