Energy Performance Indicator Rules v1.4 – NABERS - National Australian Built Environment Rating System

NABERS - National Australian Built Environment Rating System EPI-3: Confirm eligibility for an Energy Performance Indicator and the site visit type

3.1 and 3.4: an Energy Performance Indicator gives a verified energy and emissions intensity, a Renewable Energy Indicator and, for some sectors, a seven-band comparison dial, but no stars. It applies to a part building, whole building or adjacent buildings serving one sector from Table 4.2 (such as childcare, laboratories, libraries, courts, airports, aquatic centres, purpose-built student accommodation added in v1.4), not to premises eligible for another NABERS energy tool, supermarkets, shopping centres, tertiary education or medical centres, with minimum coverage, a rated area above 0 m2, operation as intended and, for new premises, a period starting 12 months after the certificate of occupancy. A physical visit is required on the assessor's first rating, under audit conditions, after 3 years without one, after significant servicing changes or a rated-area change above 20 %; otherwise a virtual visit with a single-use recorded walk-through and prior knowledge is allowed. Estimates are capped at 5 % of energy.
