Data protection so that neither other tenants nor the CSP's own authorised agents can cause customer data to be lost or destroyed. Level 1 (a and b): strict control of access to all media and to virtual images and snapshots, and protection of physical media carrying data outside the CSP's boundaries (current-location inventory, recognised couriers, tamper-evident containers, encryption). Level 2 (a to d): secure media storage reviewed at least annually; mechanisms monitoring sensitive data to prevent leakage; strong encryption on endpoint devices handling customer data; and detection and monitoring of compromise of images and snapshots containing sensitive data and of their transmission to the internet. Level 3 requires a data loss prevention strategy covering data at endpoints, in motion, at rest and leaving the cloud network for the internet.
This control maps to 1 controls across 1 other frameworks. If you already hold one of them, the evidence you collected for it is the starting point here rather than new work.
Every mapping shown was judged rather than inferred from wording similarity, and the ones that failed review are published too. See the coverage reports and what was rejected.
The graph holds this control, the 1 it maps to, and the evidence behind each claim, over MCP and REST.
