Massachusetts Wiretap Act (M.G.L. c. 272 s. 99) 99 C.2: C.2 Do not edit or alter recordings presented in judicial proceedings without disclosing the changes

A person must not wilfully edit, alter or tamper with a tape, transcription or recording of oral or wire communications intending to present it in a judicial proceeding or proceeding under oath, or present or permit it to be presented there, without fully indicating the nature of the changes made to the original. Penalty: a fine of up to 10,000 dollars, up to five years in state prison or two years in a house of correction, or both.
