Lebanon Electronic Transactions and Personal Data Protection Law (Law No. 81/2018) 22: Article 22: accreditation criteria for certification service providers

A certification service provider seeking or renewing accreditation from the Lebanese Accreditation Council (COLIBAC) is assessed on: infrastructure, technical measures, organisational procedures and staffing conforming to international standards; the regularity and scope of audits checking that its services match its published statements and policies; financial guarantees for its activity; insurance covering its civil liability; guarantees of impartiality, independence and integrity; and, for a provider established abroad, prior accreditation or assessment against international standards by a competent body. The same criteria are used to judge the reliability of a non-accredited provider's measures. COLIBAC's terms of reference, examination, two-month decision period, certificates of up to three years and suspension or revocation are in Articles 20, 21 and 23 to 25.
