Compliance with the rules of ethics (regole deontologiche) promoted and approved by the Garante under this article, published in the Official Journal and annexed to the Code (Annex A), is an essential condition for the lawfulness and fairness of the processing they cover (Annex A holds rules for journalism, archiving in the public interest and historical research, statistics and scientific research and defence investigations). Rules are adopted after a public consultation of at least sixty days.
