Information products are evaluated against the criteria defined in 6.3.2.6, with performance measures, the products themselves and user feedback as inputs, by internal or independent audit if desired, and the strengths and weaknesses recorded; the evaluation may conclude that measures no longer meeting a current need should be removed. The measurement process is evaluated against its own criteria in the same way, since its quality governs the quality of the information products. Lessons learned, the strengths and weaknesses of the products, the process and the criteria themselves, and planning experiences such as provider resistance to a collection frequency, are stored in the Measurement Experience Base. In ISO/IEC/IEEE 15288 this activity belongs to quality assurance and, at organisation level, to life cycle model management.
