Clause 9 Security instantiation – ISO/IEC DIS 4922-3

ISO/IEC DIS 4922-3 9.1: General

What does 9.1 require?

A mechanism description becomes a deployable system only when its abstract pieces are replaced by concrete ones. That is what an instantiation clause does. For a buyer, it is the difference between a paper protocol and a product, and it is the clause to ask a supplier to walk through with real values.
