The certification body plans and conducts recertification before the certificate expires under ISO/IEC 17021-1:2015, 9.6.3, reviewing the AIMS's performance over the cycle and its continued effectiveness in the light of internal and external changes, including changes to the AI systems and to the legal obligations, and the continued relevance of the scope. Certification bodies applying the standard collect the AIMS application information (AI role, sectors, legal context, complexity) again, updated, as an input to the recertification review, and set the recertification audit time under Annex A.5.
