The objectives are review that is consistent and accurate despite the growing volumes of ESI, that keeps the risks low of withholding what should be disclosed, of disclosing what should not, and of mishandling material that qualifies for exclusion or special handling (privilege, trade secrets, confidentiality), and that uses whatever approach suits the matter, from linear manual review to extensive use of advanced search and retrieval tools, carried out by people with the legal, technical, statistical and search skills the work needs.
