ISO/IEC 22989:2022 5.17: Plan for legal requirements that differ between jurisdictions

What does 5.17 require?

AI systems are deployed in jurisdictions other than where they were designed, and developers and manufacturers should be aware that legal requirements, including those on collecting, using and disposing of data across the development, operation and retirement stages, vary between them. The mitigations offered are to note the applicable legal requirements during preparation, including data law; to develop a plan for complying in each intended jurisdiction; to plan monitoring of compliance through development, deployment, operation and retirement; to plan for monitoring and responding to changes in law; and to keep design, deployment and operation flexible.
