The provider defines how it is organised and managed, where it sits in any parent body and how management, technical operations and support services relate; specifies responsibility, authority and interrelations for everyone whose management, performance or verification of work affects PT results; and documents procedures to the extent needed for consistent and valid activities. It has personnel who, whatever their other duties, hold the authority and resources to implement, maintain and improve the management system, identify deviations from it or from procedures, initiate action to prevent or minimise them, report to management on its performance and need for improvement, and ensure the effectiveness of PT activities. Management ensures that people hear about how effective the management system is and why meeting participant, customer, regulatory and recognition-body requirements, and preserves the integrity of the system when changes are planned and made.
