The provider is a legal entity, or is a defined portion of one, and carries legal responsibility for what it does in PT (a governmental provider counts by status). It identifies the management with overall responsibility for PT activities, defines and documents the schemes for which it conforms to the standard and claims conformity only for those, and carries out its PT activities so as to meet the standard and the requirements of participants, customers, regulators and recognition bodies, at its permanent facilities and at any other facility or site.
